My adventure today

Day 8 Challenge: Like I said, today is a fun day. So I want you to go out and do something that you’ve wanted to do for a long time. Go out play, enjoy, and come back and write about what you did. Also, write about how you can make such adventures part of your new lifestyle

Natalie, I’m not sure if it’s your blog or just the changes I’ve been making in the last year, but even before I read this, I think about the fact that I had an adventure yesterday, I had one today (no photos as I was in the moment!) and it’s just been marvellous. I'm just fitting it in to my life because it's so important - and anything can be an adventure - it's just perspective!

Today my lovely father took my daughter out for a bit of a fun morning, so I took my son to see The Weatherman at work, so he got to have a bit of fun too. He’s a helicopter pilot, so we got to see two helicopters arriving, the kids (my daughter arrived while we were there) got to sit in the helicopters of their choice, climbed all over the bobcat and had a delicious meal. I got to see my husband at work, talk to some of the people I enjoy talking to at the hangar, and see my kids full of joy, and playing gorgeously together. To have more adventure in my life, I just need to seize any moment where there could be a mindful adventure, and stop putting the opportunity off, saying to myself, “I’ll have that opportunity again”, because I just won’t, these opportunities don’t come up again, and whether I feel like have enough energy or not, I just have to do it. These kids are growing so fast and life is going by me at such a rush – adventure makes life memorable.

As I read today, “nobody remembers their best day watching video games, nobody frames photographs of their children playing video games” and that about sums it up for me.
